I'm completely new to everything related to zelda modding so I'm sorry if i look like an idiot. I can read all of the great tutorials that you have here and at maco but I can't really put any of that to use if I don't know where to find all of the models and roms :/ . So where can I get the resources needed to start?

No I mean like, if I wanted to find and replace Link's model where would I find Link's model. Also all of the other models and assets and scenes and stuff.

Using a program called ZRE you can extract all the files from a Zelda 64 ROM. I heavily suggest using the OoT debug ROM, since many tools and tutorials are for it.

Where can you find ZRE? I googled it and couldn't come up with much. Is it part of Utility of Time?

Yes, it is included with UoT. Not sure if in all versions, though.

The debug rom is overrated. Makes it easy to miss things like the Hylian letters in the Japanese charset http://i.imgur.com/I4JdrmP.png (remember to zoom in).

oot.cloudmodding.com is a cool place for straight up documentation. Needs some people to add more up-to-date programs (why is Utility of Time still a thing?)
