So, I was wondering if there is any way to change the text on the map select, through hex, possibly? The reason I want to do this is because for my project, I want to label the maps on the map select so I don't have to keep an extra sheet of paper with me at all times throughout this project. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! ~PwnzLPs |

Some of the debug ROM out there has already had their map select screen translated. I can't give you any links though. Google is your friend. |

You can search for the text you want to replace in a hex editor (the texts are in ASCII). But there's a translated Debug Rom, yeah. |

Thanks, Ideka. Unfortunately, it's not so much translating it (though, i need to get a patch that does) as it is replacing the normal names with custom names. Say I wanted to import Termina Field. I go ahead and import the map over Kokiri Forest. Now, I want to replace Kokiri (or whatever it is, i can't remember) with Termina. Is there any way to do that with hex, or textures, or something? I wouldn't think it'd be textures, though... |

Open your ROM in a hex editor and search for the string "SPOT05". When you find the text, just change it. |

Ahhh. Okay. Will this work for the rest of the maps, except searching their respective names? |
