OK guys. I haven't done crap lately and I want to get back into Zelda Modding. I want to start a project that will change up what most people expect from Zelda mods. EDIT: Ideka showed me I am going about this all wrong. Instead I want you guys to come up with what you want the story to be. I had ideas but they aren't that great lol so instead here's how this is going to work. People will submit their own stories and ideas and vote on the greatest one. We will do the same for practically everything else. Submit ALL your ideas. Even the crap ones lol. Edited by GANONdork123, Feb 25 2016, 03:58 PM.

Lol, my converter hates you? Anyways, although right now I'm heavily focused on Smash Bros 64, I have been intending to make more tools for helping importing/exporting models from OoT. If this is a long-term effort, then you can count me in as the console compatible importer and, if I can go that far, a Saria play-as maker. I still want to make my own play-as some day, so this would be in line with achieving those goals. |

A community project would be a great idea! However, this doesn't sound much different from all the other projects that get started (and cancelled) every month or so. I don't want to come off as an asshole, but I really think you should re-consider the way you're currently going about this; A story based on a mediocre, post-OoT fanfiction? A long list of required team members that are supposed to contribute where you can't, and whose presences the project's completion pretty much solely will depend on? Vague promises about what you'll be contributing with your self? This formula have been attempted too many times before, and I'm fairly confident that none of those previous projects have succeeded. I might sound incredibly harsh and discouraging, and I truly apologize for that as it definitely isn't my intention. A community project led by members is a great idea! I simply think that you should re-think the way you're going about it. With 4 dungeons, a new overworld and a story that probably will require both entirely new enemies and cutscenes (neither of which ever really have been accomplished before), I'd say that you're already setting the bar too high. This is just my advice, if you still think you have a solid plan worked out for this then pursue it by all means! Good luck! |

The reason I wanted to attempt this was because most of the completed projects aren't great entertainment-wise, have an extreme difficulty, or have barely made any changes. Many of them are technologically impressive but really don't have much to offer in terms of what many people play games for, entertainment. I wanted to break from that mold.I want the mod to be console compatible. HT doesn't allow for that. I think the reason most tools don't work with my computer properly is because of my operating system. I run Windows 8.1. What I mean about the programs "hating" me is that nearly every time I use them results in a broken ROM. And it's not my models as I sent the exact same models to others and they worked just fine for them. Edited by GANONdork123, Feb 25 2016, 03:53 PM.

I would be interested in helping. I could make item models and help perfect the story! I could also help make maps, if needed. |

Here are a few ideas: - Link's mother could somehow be incorporated into the story. - The King of Hyrule would be cool to mention too since we never got to learn too much about him. There doesn't have to be an NPC for the King, but he could be incorporated into the story. - You know how, when you are sneaking into Hyrule Castle, there is that area that looks like this? This could be changed and the gate would open, leading into Hyrule Castle. The animation for the gate could be taken from the one in Hyrule Field. You could create explanations for mysteries/unanswered questions in Ocarina of Time. Some mysteries could be introduced in the beginning of the mod to make players want to find out more. Examples of this would be those claw marks from Lake Hylia, that alcove in Zora's Domain, and the reason why the triforce was left behind where the three spiritual sages departed. Another plot point could be a reason for why that boulder is infinitely rolling in the area where Young Link gets the Kokiri Sword. Maybe some giant threw it in there, or maybe the Boulder was originally from Death Mountain but, because it was cursed, the Gorons did not want it so they threw it in Kokiri Village. The area past the crawl hole in Kokiri Village could also be changed. Young Link gets the Kokiri Sword in the treasure chest, turns around, takes the first left, goes straight, and there is a small corner. This specific area I am referencing is hard to put into words, but maybe it could continue into a different path. Making small changes to the game is something players usually appreciate. Changing basic textures or adding some new colors may look better than keeping the same ones from OoT's final version. One change that I have seen in the past is where modders create new rupee icons at the bottom left of the screen. Small elements like this are nice to see. Also, if you are adding in beta elements, I would either take a poll to see if people want the Sword on the A button or make an extra option that would the game. It would be harder to add in the option but I guess it would satisfy both sides. A lot of these additions would actually take a lot of time to add, or they could be changed so that it would take less time to add it. I was going to go all-out and make an OoT mod, but ultimately decided against it. These are some of the ideas that I was considering. Because I never ended up using them, I thought that I might as well give them to other people. Best of luck with the mod! edit: Nevermind, I started writing this befor Ganondork123 gave the update.
