Hi guys, I have just started getting into Zelda modding. I have the Master Quest debug ROM, however, Project 64 1.6 can not run it, I also have tried Nemu64 and MugenPlus. Any suggestions? I imagine this is a common problem so if you anyone could direct me to a solution, that would be great. Thanks |

http://wiki.cloudmodding.com/oot/Debug_Rom Edit: I don't know how you're suppose to run the Debug Rom in M.U.G.E.N... it's a 2D fighting engine

With project64 you have to increase the Default Memory Size from 4MB to 8MB in advanced settings, otherwise you will just get a black screen on project64 (all versions). |

For the OoT Debug ROM I specifically use project 64 version 1.7. As Zanak stated, increasing the default memory size to 8mb is a must, but for whatever reason, I have never been able to get the Debug ROM to work as good as it does on 1.7 on any other version. Why this is, I have no idea but pj64 1.7 is quite well known for working exceptionally well with the Debug ROM. I believe 1.7 is still available on the project 64 website, despite it being outdated. Hope this helps. |

wait for the multithreaded cen64 to come out, it is the closest thing to real hardware and can even run previously real hardware only homebrew. even the gnu dev kit works with thisif you use project 64 do not use anything newer and dont use their site. the developers put bundleware in it that can harm your pc. Jabo quit 'cause of this. the plug in i recommend is GlideN64 (not Glide64 cause its outdated) as it takes no shortcuts and uses openGL 3.2. Edited by AriaHiro, Jul 17 2016, 01:16 AM.

OK, thank you for the warning! Just to clarify, I only use use two versions of pj64, those being versions 1.6 and 1.7 (1.7 only for the OoT debug, and 1.6 for general playing). If you want to PM me with specifics that would be cool. Ive never heard of pj64 being harmful, but if certain versions are I would definitely like to know. Other people would probably like to know as well but I don't want to hijack this thread. Edited by flux, Jul 17 2016, 07:26 AM.

it has to do with the 2.x installer. in theory you could disconnect from the internet and you'd be safe since the bundleware is installed server wise at the time of normal installation but id not risk it, the reason? they get paid by these malicious software coders to do it. money talks. besides jabo made a patch to 1.6 to give it the 1.7 features he worked on at his site. 1.6 is available at emulator zone virus free. it still lacks debugging features but nemu's are more reliable, (but not by much).

Thanks for the information. I appreciate it. It's sad that Project 64 isn't reliable anymore. |
