[mapping question] alternative triangulation methods?

helo!!

quick question: do you guys or gals or anything in between know of any well known alternatives to triangulating meshes without having to use sketchup? after using sketchups exporting tools i realized its automatic triangulation method is awful. ive come to the conclusion it causes my maps to have horridly stretched textures and awful lighting problems.

i tried out blenders triangulation method and it works perfectly. they look clean and minimal and (in blender at least) the textures show up fine. the only problem is every time i try to export obj from blender (2.7, newest verison) it never retains any texture data, so nothing shows up in sharpocarina

any help would be greatly appreciated!

then dload this tool here
melon wrote it.
drop your obj and you should get a new file with uva in it.
open it up in a text editor, look for the open space and type "g mesh" without quotes.
the rest is pretty standard.
