OK so I'm working on a not so simple mod which would simply add in crops. A completely new concept I thought at first but then again, I don't think it would be that hard if I did it right. My attempt would be to port parts of the magic bean plant actor code from mm to oot. Once the actor was ported extend it's function. Perhaps instead of have one stage of growth have two or three. Instead of just magic beans perhaps different seeds. I wouldn't bother trying to add a shovel function rather, I would just manage spawning an array of the actor through an npc (malon perhaps? I mean she does live on a ranch) I don't really want the crops to serve any purposes yet it's just me creating these mechanics for visual purposes. Problem being I have never really ported an actor before. I have dealt with asm once or twice but never really ported it between the two roms. Is their any documentation on porting actors? Not their display lists but their actual coding? I like to think that this sounds like a good way to go about this but I'm not to sure how plausible it is. Their is probably a more creative and simpler way to fake this but this is what I came up with. |
