Whats an easy formula to find, and replace an actor with Gameshark? I know there used to be a site to help with that, but its down. Is there any backup of it anywhere? http://gekinzuku.com/ |

there are no good ones. I mean, there are ways to replace actor spawns with Gameshark codes, but if you wanted to say replace an actor spawn in a specific room, then you're better off making a rom hack as your cheat code will end up corrupting irrelevant data ![]() If you want to ignore me anyway, For NTSC 1.0 (That's US and Japanese 1.0), 80120C44 contains a pointer to the currently loaded room file. If you read/study the Scenes and Rooms file format, you'll be able to use a memory viewer to locate the address of whatever actor spawn you want to mess with. An important note: due to the way memory is allocated, if a scene has multiple room files it's possible that the same room file will have different start addresses, due to how the game reserves memory for rooms as you progress from one to the next Edited by mzxrules, Dec 12 2016, 08:59 PM.

Thank you for the explanation, I'll check those out! How would I go about editing the addresses to say turn pulling Kokiri in front of Mid's house into a Dinolfos? Do you mind if I also ask what are some good hacks for OOT, and MM? Edited by Hungry Goriya, Dec 15 2016, 12:12 AM.
