So basically, someone obtained a development system with the original source code to Turok: Dinosaur Hunter on it. They sold it and haven't uploaded the code, but I'm transcribing what I can from two videos. https://pastebin.com/rpy19ji1 This is the start of the game engine. I've privately been experimenting with developing my own ROM disassembler that's a bit more sophisticated. I think with these weapons we can devise a method to make decompiling relatively simple for any N64 game. EDIT: More random chunks: https://pastebin.com/y4n9sbz9 Someone doing things with Super Mario 64: http://origami64.net/showthread.php?tid=490 https://www.smwcentral.net/?p=viewthread&t=86160 Edited by Twili, Sep 13 2017, 12:34 AM.

I wish you luck and hope you do well with this project. Honestly if it was possible to recompile the rom rather than insert it would be a world easier to hack. |
